The thing I love the most about Crimson Peak is that in that sex scene, Mia Wasikowska (Edith) remains clothed the whole time, meanwhile we get an excellent view of Tom Hiddleston’s bare ass. I always feel like it’s the opposite in most movies, where women are less clothed in horror films than men. Something something female-gaze and horror cinema, probably? We need more fem and queer gaze horror, I think.
(Bravo, though, del Toro. That was a beautiful ass. Excellent directing.)
There are things that tie them to a place, very much like they do us. Some remain tethered to a patch of land. A time and date. The spilling of blood. A terrible crime.
Crimson Peak (2015) dir. Guillermo del Toro

Can we hurry up on normalizing platonic cuddling with friends? It’s really nice to lean on friends, sometimes literally, when you need some comfort and friendship. Heterosexual people have sexualized so many normal, human actions and I hate it. Let us get back to openly loving one another and showing feelings. Modern society has ruined this.
